​Comiskey Mining Services (CMS) is an innovative Earthmoving Equipment Rental business supplying the resources sector. CMS specialise in wet or dry equipment hire and also tailor maintenance packages to suit customer requirements.

We have been supplying and maintaining the best equipment for the toughest jobs for over 25 years, our success is our people. We pride ourselves on having industry leaders within our business, our team provide the best expertise and support for your project.

Managing Director

Brett Comiskey

Brett spent his early years moving around mining towns with his father Joe Comiskey, an early pioneer of the mining industry in the Bowen Basin. Eventually settling in Emerald where Brett completed his schooling it didn’t take long before Brett moved to Middlemount and joined Capcoal Coal Mine as a junior miner.

Brett and his father Joe started Comiskey Earthmoving PTY LTD with a Caterpiller bulldozer used to clear scrub, dry hire out and mine site rehabilitation.

In 2001 Comiskey Earthmoving won the contract for Jellinbah Plains and after 10 years sold the business to NRW.
2011 Brett Comiskey and Brendan Camilleri started Comiskey Mining Services with 3 x 16M graders and 1 x EX1900 excavator.

Director

Brendan Camilleri

Brendan started his apprenticeship in 1989 with Johnny Farming Company in Mackay, QLD. A year later he moved to Komatsu to continue his apprenticeship, after completing his apprenticeship, and after an extended period of time, Brendan was promoted to field service manager, then into product support and eventually customer support manager.

In 2001 Brendan moved into mining machinery sales for Liebherr. After 18 months switched companies and moved into sales for Hitachi, by 2007 Brendan was promoted to East Coast Marketing Manager in charge of all sales in QLD, NSW, PNG, New Caledonia and NZ.

By 2009 Brendan was the National Marketing Manager for mining sales at Hitachi. Longtime friend Brett Comiskey asked Brendan in 2011 to start Comiskey Mining Services with him and by June 2012 Brendan was working fulltime at Comiskey Mining Services.

Plant Manager

Nigel Pearce

Nigel brings over 25 years of invaluable experience to our team, having joined us in 2018, his expertise lies in the meticulous management of plant and machinery maintenance, repair, and equipment delivery, spanning across the entirety of our national operations.

A seasoned trade qualified mechanic, Nigel boasts an impressive career in the mining industry. His journey has seen him undertake diverse roles within reputable OEMs such as Hitachi and Hastings Deering, affording him a comprehensive understanding of mining operations across QLD and NSW.

Currently based at our Queensland operations office in Mackay, Nigel serves as a cornerstone in ensuring seamless operations and service delivery across our ventures.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Kevin Christie

Kevin Christie, our Business Development Manager, has nearly 20 years of experience in the mining industry.

From the spinifex grasslands of the Pilbara to the coal fields of the Bowen Basin, Kevin has worked with machinery throughout his career. Originally from the cotton fields of Namoi Valley in NSW, he is a trade-qualified diesel fitter who has handled everything from field maintenance to running workshops and operations.

With extensive experience as a fitter across various sites and industries, Kevin has honed his knowledge of machinery and its applications. This expertise, coupled with his ability to recognize client needs, led him to transition into business development and rental solutions.

Since joining the CMS team in 2019, Kevin has built a large clientele base across Australia by traveling extensively to assist customers with rental and maintenance options tailored to their site requirements. While he spends a lot of time on the road, he is based out of our Mackay office.

NSW & WA Manager

Simon Wylie

Simon commenced with Comiskey Mining Services in January 2024 and has worked within the civil & mining sectors for over forty years. With a foundation based on a mechanical trade he has developed field skills along with the addition of academic qualifications in Business Management.  This broad experience base has been pivotal to his successful business dealings throughout his career, from shop floor roles through to senior management in Maintenance, Logistics, Intermodal Rail, Shipping, Dangerous Goods and Fleet Rental Management within tier one businesses.  He prides himself on developing a healthy team to deliver the best possible project and client outcomes, as this is critical to business success and customer satisfaction.

Account Manager

Rodrigo Lostaunau

A Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of experience in various accounting, tax and financial management roles. Rodrigo joined Comiskey Mining in 2023. Prior to that, he spent 7 years as the Finance Manager at a Brisbane based HR tech company.

Rodrigo holds a Business and Finance degree from Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC) as well as a Master of Professional Accounting from La Trobe University in Melbourne.

Compliance & Systems Manager

Aaron Brown

Aaron is our Compliance & Systems Manager, he looks after everything relating to people, corporate governance & our IT systems. Originally joining the business in 2017 he has seen the business grow from a home office in Rockhampton to the footprint it is today. Aaron has a background in heavy logistics, construction and rail and is based in our Brisbane office.
